Dr Warren Kennedy

BSc, BSc (Hon), MSc, MBBS (Hon), MRANZCOG, FRANZCOG

Warren grew up in Townsville, North Queensland. Prior to commencing medical studies he completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours and went on to start a PhD. It didn’t take him too long to realise that pure research was not for him and he applied to undergo medical studies. During his first and second year of medical studies Warren completed his previous research as a Masters in Science. Warren completed his medical training, with Honours, at the University of Queensland in 1994. Six years of hospital jobs followed, including 2 years as a solo GP running a small country hospital in outback Queensland. Warren then commenced a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in order to improve his O&G skills in preparation for a career as a Rural GP. Needless to say, he never quite got back to that particular career path.

Warren commenced training in O&G in 2001 in Hobart, spending the next 5 years in Tasmania. In 2006 he completed training at the Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne working as a Senior Registrar. In 2007 he completed further training as a Urogynaecology Fellow in a joint position with the Monash Medical Centre and the Mercy Hospital for Women. Warren then commenced private practice in Hobart in 2008.

Warren is skilled in all areas related to general obstetrics and gynaecology and his aim is to provide a holistic approach to your specific problem. He has a special interest in assisting women with chronic pelvic pain. Warren has recently expanded his area of expertise into assisting couples with infertility issues on their journey towards attaining a successful pregnancy outcome.

Warren is married with three children. In his spare time he enjoys watching movies with his wife (the State Cinema in North Hobart is a favourite), taking their dogs on walks and photography.
